Seed Bead Loom Bracelet

I finished a seed bead bracelet today using a beading loom.  I design my bracelets using 1/4" graph paper, on which I draw and color my design with colored pencils.  You can use markers but it's easy to make a mistake and pencils can be erased.

I use size 11-0 Miyuki Delicas because of their uniform shape and size compared to run-of-the-mill seed beads, which vary too much in shape to be useful for loom beading.  You can find these beads at Hobby Lobby in little tubes in the bead section.  The tubes of beads are pictured below.

I used a product called Wildfire, in black.  Also pictured below is a product called Fireline, which is about the same thing.  Fireline is actually a type of fishing line but beaders love it for bead weaving, so many jewelrymaking supply stores carry it.

I use a 2-piece beadslide clasp from Elegant Elements.  They are made in Germany and, although they cost a little bit more, they are very easy to use and offer a secure closure with a clean look.  They are available on Amazon and Etsy, and also from smaller online companies.  Just check to see where they are made to be sure they are authentic.

Beadaholique is an online jewelrymaking supply company with great video tutorials on Youtube if you would like to try this craft for yourself!

Although these take time and some patience to complete, I am always happy with the result!

My completed bracelet with endings tied and glued for extra durability.

Fireline (shown in white) and Wildfire (the one I used on this project.)  They are basically the same thing but different brands.  Some people prefer one over the other so try both!
