Oil Paint Comparison 3 of 3

This is my third of three posts on my findings of oil paint comparison in quality and value for the money.  In this post, I once again compare my go-to brand of artists' oil paint, Winsor & Newton, to two other well-known brands: Holbein and Master's Touch.

Photo #1: I obtained Holbein's cadmium yellow light online, which I find comparable in hue to W & N cadmium yellow pale.  They are a good match in terms of qualities such as being pigment-rich and offering a buttery texture when mixing.  Pricewise, Holbein's 40ml tube costs about $10 more then the 37ml tube of W & N at one online retailer.  I will continue to buy the cad yellow pale from W & N unless I can't obtain it, in which case the Holbein is an excellent substitute.

Photo #2: I was running low on Winsor & Newton's titanium white so I decided to try the Master's Touch brand since it was available at my local Hobby Lobby.  I have to add here, that I was disappointed when Hobby Lobby stopped carrying Winsor & Newton paints altogether a few years ago.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised at the comparable quality of color, opacity, and texture that the Master's Touch titanium white offered!  Bear in mind that titanium white is one of, if not the most, inexpensive colors to produce, so my assessment of this particular brand of paint is limited to only this color.  But I'm impressed nonetheless considering it cost only $5.49 and the price of W & N's cost over $13 in a brick and mortar store.  That being said, I've found that all artists' oil paint is considerably cheaper when purchased online.
