Sunflower Wall Hanging (part 3 of 3)

Part 3: Completing the sunflower for hanging

This post will complete the Sunflower Wall Craft!  Please see my previous two posts for the steps to complete the entire project.  We are starting with step 10.

Hanging materials:  14" piece coated wire, wire snips, ruler, 8" coardboard circle, sharpie, white glue and masking tape (not pictured)

10.  On the second of your 8" cardboard circles, measure 2" from each circle edge, mark two dots, and poke holes in those dots.  The holes should be slightly more toward the "top" of the circle rather than in the dead center, as I've shown you in the photo above.  Thread the 14" wire piece through the holes.

11. Turning the circle to the other side where the ends of the wire are, twist each wire end 3 times against the circle.  This will hold it in place in the hole.  Then twist the very end of the wire tails 3 times to create a surface area on which to place pieces of masking tape.

12.  Apply 2 or 3 pieces of masking tape onto each curled wire tail to flatten and secure it to the cardboard circle as shown in the photo.

13.  Liberally apply white glue all over the circle on the wire-taped side.  Place this side face-down onto the back of your sunflower, on top of the layers of petals to seal them and complete the hanger.  Place a heavy object such as a brick or rock on top of backing circle and let dry overnite.  For extra security, I applied some hot glue to the holes where the wire is attached, as in the above right photo.

You are DONE!  It's ready to hang!

I hope you enjoyed this project as much as i did!
