Part 1: Construction of flower center
Completed sunflower wall craft.
Introduction!
Steps by photo:
Materials needed: foil, glue gun and hot glue sticks, 8" cardboard circle x 2, scissors, pre-packaged corn husks, acorn caps in large AND small sizes if possible
NOT PICTURED here: coated wire for hanging, white glue, sharpie marker
How to choose and design with acorn caps!
1. Fold postage stamp-size squares of foil into small pieces to insert into caps to fill them in. You need to do this so you have some way to apply hot glue to the bottoms of them so they will adhere to one of your 8" cardboard circles.
2. Once you have several made, place a dollop of hot glue into acorn cap and press the foil piece into the glue dollop.
3. Keep making foil "fillers" and glue them into your caps.
4. Starting from the OUTSIDE edge of the circle, apply glue to the foil-filled bottom of each acorn cap and place it firmly to a spot on your cardboard circle. Once the cardboard is filled, you may wish to "fill in" any gaps between acorn caps by stacking some on top of others already attached like in the photo above. This will be the center of your sunflower.
