Ronna's Deliciously Simple Soft Pretzels

This recipe is tried and true!  I've made it several times over 15 years or so and it never disappoints.  I thought I'd share it here today!

One note of caution: when rolling out the dough pieces to form rope shapes, be as sparing as you can on the amount of flour that you use to keep the dough from sticking to the work surface.  Using too much tends to stiffen the dough.  This is a rule of thumb for any recipe that involves rolling dough on a flat surface.
