Macrame Crossbody Bag

After considerable time, research, and effort, I finished a crossbody purse.  It measures about 12"x12" and has a strap of about 45".  I used a 5mm wide cotton, 3-stranded cord by Yarn Bee, called Braided Basics, in Light Beige (3 skeins) and Petrol Blue (1 skein) that I found at Hobby Lobby.  Each skein cost $4.99 and I used 5 skeins, so 20 bucks.

I also lined my purse with some contrasting batik cotton fabric, first sewing the lining together on my sewing machine, and then hand sewing it into the shell of the purse.  I added a magnetic clasp before sewing it into the shell.

I had lots of problem-solving opportunities present themselves, one of which was about how to manage the considerably long cords I was working with.  In the pics below, you can see what I did.  The entire project took 18 to 20 hours total.  Whew!  But I'm happy with the results and wanted to share them here.  If you have any questions of the lengths of cords, types of knots, or anything else, feel free to email me with your questions.  Happy crafting!
