Goose Family Outing

Check out my newest nature/travel video on my Youtube channel! This video features a goose family have a casual lunch at Lake of the Ozarks on a lazy May afternoon. I shot this from my parents' deck.

I saw a bunch of macrame and crocheted shawls and ponchos online and decided to try to make one using macrame. Here's what I did! I had to hang my shawl on a door to make it because it was too long and too wide to work with flat on a table. I'm happy with how it turned out. The photos are in order, and if you want to know details you can email me and I will be more than happy to share them with you. The number of cords and their lengths are listed below. Buy (2) - 3mm skeins of macrame cord. It will give you extra. I used the brand you see below, which I got at Hobby Lobby. It's good cord and the most inexpensive I have found for the amount you get. This cord can also be "shredded", or pulled apart, to make the fringe you see at the bottom of the shawl. Avoid getting 'braided' cord, which is generally not shreddable, if you want to make fringe. Polymer Clay Chess & Checkers Set

The following photos illustrate my latest project, a polymer clay chess and checkers set that was inspired by the miniseries 'Queen's Gambit', which I watched during the height of the covid pandemic. Below you will find all of the materials I used to make it, plus each step in the process. I need to note that instead of making or ordering a custom game box and chess board, I chose to buy a checkers set from a thrift store and repurpose it by covering the box top with my own name and logo, which I designed and printed on my home computer. Materials: 16 pennies, 16 nickels (for each chess piece base - pennies for pawns and nickels for all others Q-tips (with cotton tips removed. *Note: you can also use round coffee stirs instead.
